WHERE ARE HEARINGS HELD IN HUNTSVILLE?

Social Security disability hearings are held by the US Social Security Administration and are not held at the county courthouse, as you might think.

In Huntsville, hearings are held at two locations:

Civic Plaza Office Building (downtown)
307 W. Clinton Avenue
Huntsville, AL

and

The Social Security Office
497 Research drive NW
Huntsville, AL

Hearings can also be held in various other locations, including Albertville, Decatur, Cullman and Florence.

You will receive a Notice of Hearing at least 70 days prior to your hearing which will provide the address of your hearing.

SUGGESTIONS FOR A SUCCESSFUL HEARING
  • Arrive 1 hour prior to the hearing
  • Dress neatly but informally
  • Prepare by meeting with your attorney ahead of time
  • Speak in terms of symptoms and function:  This is how my illness affects me and my daily activities.
